What is DDPHONE
Virtual Office?
DDPHONE Virtual Office is a business telephone
service from DDphone designed to offer small to mid-sized businesses a feature-rich
audio platform to conduct effective business communications. Companies with
Virtual Office operate as if they are using a premise-based switch, however
Virtual Office is a hosted PBX service delivered over the Internet, allowing
endless potential without the need for telephone administrators or telecom
managers.
Virtual Office comes with an array of business-class
features to improve an organization's productivity. The features
include auto-attendant, conference bridge, voicemail, toll-free extension to
extension calling and many more. for more information. Users on the system can reside
anywhere and have access to all the features.
How does
Virtual Office work?
Virtual Office operates under the same basic idea as
all DDPHONE services. A phone is connected to a telephone adapter, and that
adapter is connected into a network with high-speed Internet access. When a
call is made, it goes out to servers and then is routed to a traditional phone
switch. After the call goes through the traditional public phone system network
(a.k.a. PSTN) the number dialed is reached.
Does the cost
of Virtual Office include calls?
The monthly cost of Virtual Office includes
unlimited calling to the US
and
Canada
with no time limitation. Currently there are no special international calling
plans associated with Virtual Office so all international calls are billed
at DDPHONE's low rates.
How much
bandwidth do I need?
In a small office environment (where there are 1-15
extensions) a high-speed DSL or Cable modem connection to the Internet should be
fine. Approximately 256Kbps-1.5Kbps upload and download. However for larger
offices 15+ extensions it is suggested that a T1 line or better be used for
Internet connection. Remember, most companies will be using both the Virtual
Office service and their computers on the same Internet connection. It is best to
have more than enough bandwidth rather than too little.
What networking
equipment does the Virtual Office customer need?
Customers are responsible for their own networks.
They will need to provide a sufficient Internet connection, a router, and if
the Virtual Office extensions are placed far from the router they will need a
LAN switch.
What is an
auto-attendant?
The Virtual Office auto-attendant is the automated
system that guides incoming callers to an extension without human intervention. The
default configuration of Virtual Office comes with one IVR (Interactive Voice
Recording) configured as the auto-attendant.It is possible for an organization to have multiple recordings and
auto-attendants, however, they are not included in the basic cost of Virtual
Office and an additional charge will apply.
